Strangely enough, Lapsang Souchong seems to be practically unknown in China since it has always been made principally for export. It is scented with pinewood smoke which impregnates the leaves, imparting a sweet, clean smokey flavour to the tea and golden coppery colour in the cup. The dimensions of smokey experienced in one cup is like no other. Like Scotch whiskey, you love it or leave it on it's own unmistakable terms.
Can be drunk on it's own or by adding a pinch to another tea.
